I don’t think your winters get cold enough for the trees to produce sweet sap. If global warming continues, maybe Vermont, Michigan, Ontario and Quebec won’t be cold enough either. 🙁
It is worrisome. The last time we were in Vermont we were told that maple growers are obliged to tap earlier and earlier. A fruit farmer also told us that the winters are no longer severe enough to kill most of the insects between growing seasons.
